Gain a global picture of industry operations, consumption and reserves. This class will also explore new sources of petroleum such as sub- and pre-salt, deep water, polar and gas hydrate reservoirs, as well as hydraulic fracturing in shale. The discussion will include how these new sources, especially shale, have dramatically changed the petroleum supply in the US and globally, as well as created new environmental concerns.
